William is the CEO of Brightside Community Homes Foundation.
Brightside Community Homes Foundation is dedicated to making housing accessible for those who struggle to meet the demands of market housing in Vancouver, one of the most unaffordable cities on the planet. His team ensures that residents have safe, stable and appropriate housing, while developing new units to meet the pressing need in the community.
He was a long-time executive at Vancity, performing multiple leadership roles at the community-focused credit union serving the financial needs of their half million member-owners.
William is board chair of the Vancity Community Foundation overseeing development of 312 Main, a social and economic innovation centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. He was also elected to the board of Modo, a car-sharing co-operative in Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the Okanagan.
Currently, he is writing a book on leadership lessons gained from the dozen years he spent as an independent filmmaker. He is a longtime blogger, seasoned speaker and dialogue facilitator and has recently become an amateur music producer, proudly producing his son’s albums who records under the name Spectrasounds.
