Garden Club of Vancouver Legacy Fund
The Garden Club of Vancouver was founded in 1961. The members, all garden enthusiasts, were interested in volunteering, learning and sharing their knowledge in order to raise awareness and support garden projects through annual and ongoing fundraising endeavors.
In 2021 the Club celebrated its 60th Anniversary. The Garden Club of Vancouver believes that gardens, green space and nature are all vital components of healthy sustainable communities. In recognition of the occasion, its members established The Garden Club of Vancouver’s Legacy Fund with the Vancity Community Foundation. This fund honors the legacy of past members’ six decades of service to the community while building support for the future.
In the past 60 years Club members have shared their interest in gardening, plants and the natural world while working together on annual projects, touring gardens and learning from monthly speakers on a wide variety of garden related topics.
Its members take tremendous pride in the many contributions, large and small the Club has made to worthy projects throughout the community and beyond. Service is in Club members’ DNA and they look forward to being able to respond to new requests for support in the future.
The Club recognizes and thanks those members whose incredible generosity began the fund in 2021.
