Here at Vancity Community Foundation, we know that strong government funding is key to building communities that are affordable, resilient, equitable, and in Right Relations with the land. A major part of this work includes our advocacy to government. The 2023 Homeless Count team is recruiting qualified volunteers for the 2023 Homeless Count in Metro Vancouver. The Count will take place throughout the region inside shelters during the evening of Tuesday, March 7, 2023 and on streets throughout the day and evening of Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
The Government of Canada announced in Budget 2021 its intention to consult on fighting predatory lending by lowering the criminal rate of interest. Vancity Community Foundation sent in a submission as part of this consultation by the Department of Finance.

Vancity today announced it is temporarily waiving wire transfer fees to send money to Ukraine. There are over one million Canadians who identify as Ukrainian, and many more with strong personal connections who are deeply concerned and wish to help. Vancity members will be able to send money to friends or family members in Ukraine without fees.
In conjunction with Black Futures Month, Ethos Lab is launching a new fundraising campaign to raise $100,000 in 100 days from February through May, which will go toward sponsoring youth members, programming and operating funds.
