La Boussole & 312- Explore Squamish Nation Culture
Join La Boussole for an immersive cultural workshop exploring the rich traditions of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). This engaging evening will guide participants through important themes including pre-contact history, the impact of residential schools and an introduction to traditional Coast Salish wool weaving. Alongside storytelling and hands-on learning, attendees will enjoy traditional First Nations food, offering a full sensory experience.

Truth and Reconciliation Week Lunch and Learn Webinars
These webinars offer an immersive experience to UN-learn the myths of colonial history in Canada. Sessions are aimed at an adult audience and open to the public, and will be hosted virtually over Zoom Webinar and streamed to YouTube. Expert matter speakers will present for 40-50 minutes before a Q&A between the moderator and guest(s).

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Reflections, Resources and Commitments
Explore a special display featuring a collection of resources that deepen understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives. The exhibit will also showcase individual staff commitments to ongoing learning and meaningful engagement with Indigenous knowledge and communities.

Cedar Weaving with Todd DeVries
Held in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, participants will learn the history and cultural values of Cedar Bark Weaving. 100% of proceeds support the Indian Residential School Survivors Society. An opportunity to reflect, connect, and contribute through traditional art.

Truth & Reconciliation Day 2025
This year’s event theme is “Honouring the Past, Healing the Present, Inspiring the Future”. Together, we will gather in Grandview Park for cultural and contemporary performances, a sacred fire and an Indigenous market.
We begin the day with an Honour Walk at 10:00 am from the Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre to Grandview Park. We encourage everyone to bring their drums and wear orange in solidarity.

Participate in a thoughtful series of workshops centered on Indigenous knowledge and reconciliation efforts. These sessions include: a discussion on Coast Salish language revitalization, a weaving revitalization workshop led by host nation weaver Rita Kompst, a myth-busting workshop on colonization and Indigenous rights and an introductory discussion on Indigenous Residential Schools.
